Who Is Jesse Malin?
Jesse Malin has been a fixture of the New York City rock scene since the 1980s, fronting the hardcore band Heart Attack as a teenager before leading glam-punk outfit D Generation through the 1990s and building a long solo career from the early 2000s onward. Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day once described New York City as unthinkable without him. In May 2023, Malin suffered a rare spinal stroke that left him paralysed from the waist down, and he has since been undergoing physical therapy and stem-cell treatment while continuing to write and perform where possible.
