Who Is Marina Allen?

About Eight Pointed Star
Taking its title from the shape of a compass rose, Eight Pointed Star follows Allen as she charts new creative directions across nine songs, working with producer Chris Cohen to build a gentle yet surprising sound. Allen has described the album's genesis as a process of trust, allowing songs to arise and following them rather than forcing them into shape. Lyrically, the record weaves together themes of ancestry, hope and self-discovery, touching on tough subjects with directness rather than skirting around them, while musically it stretches into sprawling, sun-faded folk-rock arrangements that mark a clear evolution from her earlier records.
