About The Exotic Blues & Rhythm Series
Gibble Gobble belongs to a long-running series of 10 inch compilations from Stag-O-Lee Records, gathering obscure vintage rhythm and blues, exotica, popcorn and tittyshaker rarities under playfully nonsensical titles, part of a run that has stretched across volumes including Katanga!, Sadaba, Boom-A-Lay, Chug-A-Lug and Shadrach. Each volume typically draws on twelve tracks of deep-digging vinyl obscurities, prized by collectors for surfacing genuinely rare material rather than well worn genre standards.
About This Volume's Rarity
Gibble Gobble originally appeared years ago as the fifth volume in the series, limited to just 500 copies that sold out quickly and became a genuinely sought after item on the secondary collector's market. Recognising the ongoing demand, Stag-O-Lee later reissued the volume in a limited run of 700 copies, this time pressed entirely on clear vinyl, giving collectors who missed the original pressing a fresh chance to add this beloved entry in the series to their collection. As with the label's wider Exotic Blues & Rhythm output, the record continues the series' tradition of surfacing genuinely obscure, dance-floor-ready vintage sounds for dedicated collectors of the genre.
